50 MWp Solar PV Project at Former RAF West Rainham Base, UK
Built at the former RAF base of West Rainham, this PV plant has an installed capacity of approximately 50 MWp and will be the largest PV plant in the UK when completed. The 49.99 MW PV plant, which utilises 196,627 Trina Solar modules, began construction in the third quarter of 2014 and was connected to the grid in the first quarter of 2015. It was awarded 1.4/ MWh ‘Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROC)’. Upon completion, the project will provide clean energy to up to 14,000 UK homes per year.
